Tom Wells

Tom Wells considers himself a very fortunate man to have been brought up in a faithful Christian home surrounded by Godly parents and siblings.  He committed himself to Christ as a teenager and set out to serve the Lord.  He married a faithful young Christian lady and was then able to accompany other Christians on two separate trips to preach the gospel in Jamaica.  After the birth of their daughter, they moved to Shelbyville.  On August 10, 1997, Tom and his family joined about 12 others in establishing the work in Shelbyville.  After much hard work on the part of the members, they were able to leave the VFW Hall meeting location for a permanent setting on Burks Branch Road in 2002.  With the goal of becoming organized as Christ would have them to be, elders and deacons were appointed in 2006.  Tom and his wife have been  blessed to witness the baptism and growth of their daughter.  In 2009 Tom and his daughter accompanied other Christians in a preaching trip to the Philippines.

"My favorite passage of scripture is Joshua 24:15, 'And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell:  but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.'"

"The elders who are among you I exhort... Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers..." (1 Peter 5:1,2).

Mike Noble was raised in a Godly home with strong Biblical examples.  After college, Mike married the love of his life and was blessed with three marvelous children - - truly a "heritage from the Lord" (Psa. 127:3). Years later he and his wife were further blessed to see these children become strong Christians.  Mike and his family moved to Shelbyville in 1997 to help start the work here at Central Shelby.  In 2006, Mike was chosen by the congregation to serve as an elder and overseer.  The congregation has been such an encouragement to him.  He has considered it a great pleasure to participate in the kingdom work in this community.  His aspirations here are future-driven.  He longs for more souls to be brought to Christ, and for each disciple to be built up even more in the faith.

"It is such a joy to have been granted the opportunity to serve as one of Central Shelby's shepherds.  The disciples who comprise the congregation provide an atmosphere conducive to serving 'with joy and not with grief' (Hebrews 13:17)."
