Jesus IS the Son of God
Jesus of Nazareth is the Son of God. He was “attested by God… by
miracles, wonders, and signs” (Acts 2:22). “What miracles and wonders?”
you ask. He performed miracles of all sorts and types, dealing with all
aspects of nature -- yet going beyond nature (hence, supernatural).
He healed people of all sorts of bodily illnesses and
imperfections, including those who were lame and maimed and mute, those
who had leprosy, epilepsy, blindness, and deafness. He showed His power
over the weather elements by calming a “great windstorm” on the sea of
Galilee with the words, “Peace, be still!” (Mark 4:37-39). On one
occasion He walked on the sea to His disciples as they were rowing in a
boat (Matthew 14:22-33). Once, He fed five thousand men with just five
loaves of bread and two fish, and took up more “leftovers” than He began
with. On another day He fed four thousand with seven loaves and a few
small fish (Matthew 14:13-21; 15:32-39). He raised dead people back to
life (Matthew 9:18-26; John 11:38-44). Wonders and signs, indeed! And
the greatest miracle of all that proved His divinity beyond all doubt
was His own resurrection from the dead (Matthew 28; Romans 1:4). All
these miracles were recorded by credible eye-witnesses, who wrote of
just some of what they saw.
“And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His
disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written
that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that
believing you may have life in His name” (John 20:30-31).
Jesus IS the Son of God. Do you believe? And if so, will your
faith move you to submit to and obey Him?
