Has life got
you down?…
Are you worried about something --
perhaps many things?
Is it the children? Is it the concern of
trying to raise them? Are they giving you problems? Is it the ‘terrible
two’s’ or the teenage years? Maybe you have raised them, but one or more
of them are outside of Christ?
Is your job a hassle? Are you not
appreciated enough by your boss? Not paid enough?
Are you uninsured or underinsured?
Is the car needing repairs?
Are the bills overwhelming you? Is there
‘too much month at the end of the money’?
Are you having health problems, perhaps
suffering physical pain?
Have you lost a loved one recently? Or
maybe it’s been years, but you still feel the pain of their absence?
Do you feel that your marriage
relationship is slowly dissolving? Are the home ‘fires’ burning out?
Are you being ridiculed for your faith,
perhaps even persecuted?
Are you struggling with an addiction to
a particular sin?
This life has its struggles, to be sure.
Some of us have ‘a lot on our plates’ -- plates full of problems and
cares. But beloved, there is One who cares and who can get us through
whatever we are presently experiencing. “Therefore humble yourselves
under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting
all your care upon Him, for He cares
for you” (1 Peter 5:6-7).
Cast all your care upon the Lord. With
Christ’s aid, endure! “Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You
have heard of the perseverance of Job“--- [Remember Job? He ‘had it
up to here’ with problems] --- “You have heard of the perseverance of
Job and seen the end intended by the Lord -- that the Lord is very
compassionate and merciful” (James 5:11).
The Lord will see you through. Don’t
give up! Cast all your care on Him. “Be anxious for nothing, but in
everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your
requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all
understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus”
(Philippians 4:6-7).
